New student year which must mean...

....new clothes!!!
Obviously you can't start a new year at University without making a few small purchases. Luckily for me over the summer I treated myself a little so I didn't need to buy a lot, saying that though do I really need an excuse to buy more clothes? Nope I do not.
Much to my dismay River Island's new collection back in September tricked me into buying my new favourite dress and some amazing Chelsea boots which I've been wearing constantly.
The boots were a bank balance's dream at only £35 which they don't feel or look! I had been looking for ankle boots for what felt like months after my trusty £18 Matalan boots started to give way. When I bought these wonderful shoes I was over the moon especially as on the day of purchase my friend Hellma stood on my trusty old boots and the heel came off! If that's not good timing I'm not sure what is.
My dress cost £32 which for me is the highest I normally pay for a dress and the first time that it was worn I spilt my Lush chocolate cupcake face mask down it (excellent).
My favourite summer purchase has to be my salmon satchel from F+F at Tesco. Normally I don't even buy my food at Tesco because lets face it Asda is waaaay better but thank god I went into Tesco that day and found this cute satchel for a mere £10. Amazing. I still love telling people it only cost me a tenner.

Let me know what you think! Danielle x

the VMA's 2013!

I am pretty sure that there wasn't a single person not googling 'Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, VMA' when it aired a few days ago. If you've somehow been away from fiasco that surrounded 'that performance' then here is a small glance at what you missed....
Yes, that is a foam finger between her legs.
Post-Hannah Montana, Miley has flourished into her adult life taking a new approach to literally EVERYTHING. She was once a country singer and now she believes she is part of a 'ghetto' by twerking her way through 2013. Anyway... back to the VMAs. We are all aware of the controversy that has surrounded Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' featuring Pharell and T.I. with their music video seeing half naked models prancing around to what some have called 'misogynistic' lyrics.  So, as you can imagine to dimish that message surrounding the song you get a 20 something pop star to gyrate her body up and down the married singer whilst wearing very little and using a foam finger to touch inappropriate places. Personally, I think it is extremely inappropriate as when I was younger I used to loooove watching the VMAs but I would not have a clue what to think if my 12 year old self saw something similair to that performance. Would I think it was right to do that..? Probably! Hopefully the kids who saw that performance won't think to go to Cardiff and start dancing around in latex underwear whenever they hear 'Blurred lines' but if that's their role models then what can you do! Well done Miley! Raise millions of children with your Disney show then teach them how to be strippers, yay!

a little about me...

Hello! The above picture is yours truely (Danielle!). I have failed over the years to blog, I just can't do it. I can find the time to browse Facebook about 10 times a day but writing a few paragraphs every other day is something that requires too much effort.
Until now! I am going to be filling up this blog with pointless opinions (my own, ofc), maybe some fashion but mostly the ramblings of a 20 year old student from the South of Wales (the U.K not Australia, sadly).
So, keep your eyes peeled for some debates that you may or may not find interesting! :)
